Thursday's the church commemorates...

On Thursday's the Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Apostles, by whose labors Christianity was established on earth. On this day we venerate the preeminent Apostles and one of the most revered saints of the Orthodox Church—St. Nicholas, archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the Wonderworker.

Apolytikion of Holy Apostles Third Tone
O Holy Apostles, intercede to our merciful God, that He may grant our souls forgiveness of sins.

Apolytikion of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Fourth Tone
An example of the faith and life of humility, and a teacher of abstinence; you did inspire and lead your flock and through the truthfulness of your deeds were exhalted by greatness through your humility, uplifting all and by poverty gaining wealth. Father and Hierarch St. Nicholas intercede with Christ our God, that our souls may be saved.
