This Sunday April 30 we commemorate the Holy Myrrh-bearing women.

May you always keep the light of the Resurrection in your heart!

Prayer:
O holy Martha and Mary and the rest of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women! Pray to whom you loved, the Sweetest Jesus, and whom you have confessed to be the Christ, the Son of God, to grant us, sinful servants of God (names), remission of sins, to stand firm in faith and not be hypocritical. Introduce in our hearts the spirit of the fear of God, the humble of God of hope, patience and neighborly mercy. Deliver us with your prayers from the temptations of everyday life, troubles and misfortunes, and to grant us a quiet and peaceful life, with innocent thoughts and a pure heart, until the Last Judgment Day, and that the joy of the Kingdom of Heaven will be honored for ever and ever. Amen.

Holy Myrrh-bearers

Dear women, we congratulate you on Orthodox Women's Day!

This is the holiday of a woman's heart. Holy Myrrh-bearers loved the Lord with all their hearts, followed Him, listened to Him, served Him. Why didn't the Lord appear to the Apostles after the Resurrection? Women's hearts know all the great, mysterious, holy things much easier than men's, coarser hearts. The Lord knew that the Myrrh-bearers would believe much easier, that is why He appeared to them first.
