Place of the Glorious Nativity of the Mother of God

 

Under the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Maryof the Jerusalem Patriarchate in Jerusalem, there are two caves, which are believed to have been the dwellings of Righteous Joachim and Anna. In the Byzantine crypt under the church, there is an upper room, where a mosaic Greek cross on the ancient Byzantine floor marks the place of the glorious nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos.
