Commemorating the Holy Wonderworkers and Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian of Mesopotamia (Nov. 14/Nov. 1)

Prayer to the wonderworkers Cosmas and Damian for healing
"To you, holy saints and miracle workers Cosmo and Damian, as quick helpers and warm intercessors for our salvation, we, unworthy (names), bending our knees, come and cry fervently: do not despise the prayers of us sinners, weak, falling into many iniquities, and sinning at all hours and days. beseech the Lord, that He may grant to us, His undeserving servants, His great and abounding mercies: deliver us from all tribulation and sickness; for you have received from God and our Savior Jesus Christ the superfluous grace of healing, for the sake of your steadfast faith, your healing without charge, and your martyrdom. O God's saints, do not cease from praying for us who come to you in faith: For though in the multitude of our sins we are not worthy of your mercy, yet you, faithful imitators of the benevolence of God, do this, that we may bear fruits worthy of repentance, and reach eternal rest, praising and blessing the wondrous in his saints Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ and his Most Pure Mother, and your warm protection, always, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen."
Saints Cosmas and Damian used to say to the sick, "It is not by our own power that we heal diseases, but by the power of Christ, the True God. Believe in Him and you will be well." For their unselfish treatment of the sick, the holy brothers were called "gratuitous physicians.
