Commemorating Holy and Wonderworking Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian, martyrs at Rome. (July 14/1)

To you, holy saints and miracle workers Cosmo and Damian, as quick helpers and warm supplicants for our salvation, we, unworthy ones, kneel down and, falling down, we pray fervently: do not disregard our prayers, sinful and weak, who have fallen into many iniquities and who sin at all hours and days. Beg of the Lord, that He may bestow on us, His undeserving servants, His great and abounding mercies; deliver us from all sorrow and sickness; for you have received from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the abundant grace of healing, for the sake of unshakeable faith, uncompensated healing, and your martyrdom. Through your favourable intercession ask that Christ God grant deliverance and victory to the Orthodox people over their enemies. We beseech you, falling down, praying fervently: that you may ask of the Lord all that is good for our temporal life, serving especially for eternal salvation; that through your prayers we may be blessed to have a Christian, painless, undefiled, and peaceful end, and be delivered from the wiles of the devil and eternal torment; we may be heirs, without end and of the blessed kingdom of heaven. Hear this, my saints, do not cease from praying for us, who come to you in faith. For though in the multitude of our sins we are not worthy of your mercy, yet you, faithful imitators of the benevolence of God, do this, that we may bear fruits worthy of repentance and reach unto eternal rest, praising and blessing Him who is wonderful in His saints, our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ, and His most pure Mother, and through your intercession, always, now and ever, and unto the ages
