Instructions of St. Gabriel Urgebadze

 

1. When your Faith is scolded in front of you and you are silent, you are worse than that detractor.

2. It is better to be a fornicator a hundred times than a heretic.

3. When it is necessary to defend the Faith and you do not do it, your soul perishes; and if you die defending the Faith, you will end up in the Kingdom of Heaven.

4. Ecumenism is a super-heresy.

5. The Orthodox Church is a ship sailing on a stormy ocean. We, the Orthodox, are on this ship, while people of other confessions are sailing on their own.

6. The confessor must be chosen at will, and having chosen, already obey. But if the confessor teaches heresy, run away from him as from fire.

7. Woe to the monk or nun who does not get sick about the ailments of his people.

8. A good monk should have a sensitive heart, like a woman's.

9. A monk must do physical work, otherwise he will lose heart.

10. Monastics should live in simplicity. Simplicity is the grace of God.

11. A monk must be firm, defend the truth, because the truth is God Himself.

12. A monk, like a roaring lion, must defend Orthodoxy.

13. Monasticism is an angelic order. To achieve perfection, one must pass through the fire of temptations.

18. Death is a transformation. Don't be afraid of death - be afraid of the Judgment of God. Imagine how your heart beats when you stand in an exam in front of a professor. How much more terrible it is to stand before God at the Judgment! The greatness of God is incomparable to anything.

19. Only with a heart full of love can one rebuke the sins of another person.

20. Whoever learns to love will be happy. Just do not think that love is an innate talent. Love can be learned and we must do it.

21. Live in such a way that not only God loves you, but people love you too - there is nothing more than this.

22. In recent times, people will be saved by love, humility and kindness. Kindness will open the gates of Paradise, humility will lead there, and love will show God.

23. The Lord shows someone else's misfortune to soften our hearts.

24. God will return to you a hundred times more than what you spent doing good deeds.

25. Help a poor person - this will be your sacrifice to God.

26. Everyone should wish good, but to do good, wisdom is required.

28. How will the soul be calm when the neighbor is in danger? If you have a sick person at home and there is no one to take care of him, it is better not to go to Church, to stay at home.

31. If you have been slandered, if you have responded to good with evil, do not hold evil. Forgive and rejoice, because thanks to this you have come a few steps closer to God.

32. Products that have the number of the Antichrist cannot harm us. It is not yet a seal. It is necessary to say the prayer "Our Father", to cross, sprinkle with holy water - and in this way all food will be sanctified.

33. In the last time, the supporters of the antichrist will go to church, will be baptized and will preach the gospel commandments. But do not believe those who will not have good works. Only by deeds can a true Christian be known.

34. The place where the seal of the Antichrist will be placed is not the palm, but the index finger. It will be injected using a computer under the skin, and it will not be visible. First, optional. And when the Antichrist reigns and becomes the ruler of the world, he will force everyone to accept this seal. Those who do not accept will be declared traitors. Then it will be necessary to go into the forest ten to fifteen people together. One or two cannot be saved. No matter what happens, don't lose hope in God. The Lord will tell you what to do. Whoever is strong in faith will not feel either hunger or thirst, and natural disasters will not touch him.

35. The devil has 666 nets. In the time of the Antichrist, people will be waiting for salvation from outer space. This will be the biggest trick of the devil: humanity will ask for help from aliens, not knowing that they are demons.

36. If you steal, you break one of the ten commandments. Whoever does this will accept the Antichrist in this way. The believer will trust in God. And the Lord in the last times will create such miracles for His people that one leaf is enough for a whole month. A truly believing person will cross the earth, and it will give him bread.

37. Without the will of God, a demon cannot even move a crumb.

38. It is difficult for a person to penetrate the Providence of God. There is an allowance, will and Providence of God. Allowance - when God gives a person freedom. The person then does what he wants. When the will of God is at work, a person does what God commands. The will of God always brings good. The providence of God rules: now it makes allowance, now it will. When you cannot resolve the issue and do not know what to do, trust the Providence of God and do not think about anything else.

39. It is not proper for a Christian to whine.

40. Humility is an inextinguishable, God-pleasing candle.

41. Mercy is gold, humility is a diamond.

42. Don't accept "Judas' money" as a donation. Such money will certainly involve you in sin, from which you will not soon get out.

43. Without knowing the spiritual state of your neighbor, do not give him advice. Your advice could be his undoing.

44. Printing icons in secular newspapers is a crime.

45. When others pray in front of the icons and crosses made by your hands, part of the grace passes to you.

46. It is not enough to lay hands on the face of an icon; it is enough to lay hands on the frame with reverence. It is necessary to lay down with love and trust.

47. Holy water and prosphora are very strengthening. They must be received with faith.

48. If you witness a theft and cannot intervene, recite Our Father.

49. For those who are in hell, a memorial service is like light for a prisoner.

50. "Is it possible to lie in order to save a person?" the elder was asked. He replied: “Sometimes you hide something so as not to harm another person” - and told the following story: “One robber who was being chased ran to the hermit and asked to hide him. He hid. When the persecutors rushed in and asked if anyone had visited him, the monk calmly replied that he had not seen anyone. Lying out of fear is bad. When you do not tell the truth out of love for a person, then a lie, of course, will be counted as a sin, but love will cover everything.

51. The elder was constantly joyful and complacent. But one day the nun who looked after him found him crying. She asked Father Gabriel about the reason for the tears. He said that he saw ruins on the site of Tbilisi, over which crows were circling.

52. Another time the Elder said: Georgia will rise like Lazarus. Until there is a crowned king in Georgia, nothing good will happen.

53. When you see your neighbor in trouble, help, console, pray for him with all your heart - and the Lord will hear your request and have mercy on him.

54. For this alone we exist in the world, in order to do as much good as possible.
