St Iakovos of Evia

At one point,Fr. Iakovos only had a few monks in the monastery, but the services were done regularly and the monastic virtues were evident, even on their faces.
Satan reacted to this on his own way. Once, while the gate was closed at midday, a wretched, ugly old woman with a ring in her nose appeared in the yard of the monastery. The Elder told her:
"Come here and venerate! Where are you from? You are welcome to stay here one night to rest."
The old woman replied:
"What are you talking about - I couldn't stay here even for a half hour. You have Liturgy here every day, you pray. I'm to going to the monastery over there to trouble them for a week, and then I'll find somewhere else to go."
"Are you perhaps the Devil?" said the Elder, and pointed the wooden cross directly at her.
Satan, who had taken the form of an old woman, disappeared immediately...
