Orthodox Parables and Stories: "Story of St. Sergius of Radonezh before being born"

Cyril and Mary already had a son Stephen, when God gave them another son - the future founder of the Trinity Monastery, the beauty of the Orthodox Church and invincible support of his native land. Long before the birth of this holy child the marvelous providence of God had already given a sign of it, it would be a great choice of God and the holy blessed branch root. One Sunday, his devout mother came to church for the Divine Liturgy and humbly stood, as was then the custom, in the narthex of the church, along with other wives. The liturgy began; the Trisagion hymn was sung already, and now, shortly before the reading of the Holy Gospel, suddenly, in the general and reverent silence, the baby cried out in her womb. So many have paid attention to this cry. When they began to sing the Cherubic Hymn, the baby cried a second time, and so loud that his voice could be heard throughout the church. It is clear that his mother was frightened, and the women that stood near her began to talk among themselves, what this extraordinary baby cry could mean? Meanwhile, the liturgy continued. The priest cried out: "Let us attend! ! The Holy Things are for the Holy." In this proclamation the baby cried for the third time, and the confused mother almost fell with fear. She started crying. Then she was surrounded by women who wanted to help her calm the crying child. They asked her:" Where do you have your baby? Why is he screaming so loud, "But Mary, very emotional, with tears, could hardly utter them:" I do not have a baby." The women began to look around and not seeing a baby any where they asked Mary the same question. Then she was forced to tell them that she did not have a baby in her hands, but that she is carrying it in her womb
