One afternoon, Elder Gelasios was sitting on the balcony looking out to the sea. He was amazed by the fantastic beauty of God's creation and exclaimed: "How beautiful everything is in front of me, the sea, the sky, the forests, the birds, the flowers. Why did you make such a wonderful world for me, Christ?" And he heard a voice saying to him; "I made them for you, elder." And immediately the elder asked Him: "And what can I do for you, my Christ?" And He answered: "To love me as a Father and to fear me as God."
