Once a great criminal decided to confess. And he did not leave out anything. What terrible sins! During the confession, the elder prayed inside and said:
- My God, enlighten me! How do I treat him and what rule do I put on him?
When the criminal finishes his confession, the elder gives him a small bucket and says:
- Go fill this bucket with water and when you fill it, bring it to me, then your sins will be settled!
It was easy for the criminal to do this, so he took it immediately and went to a nearby river to fill it. But, even though it was filled with water, the bucket was strangely not filled!
He examined it to see if it had any holes but nothing. It was an ordinary bucket, like everything else. He then tried to fill it, from taps and other springs, and failed! He took care of it daily, where there was water to fill it, to obtain the remission of sins, but in vain. And so he tried for many years ...
One day he came to himself. He was worried about why the bucket could not fill.
- My God, am I so sinful that my sins do not allow this bucket to be filled ???
Saying these words with pain, a tear fell from his eyes. That tear fell into the bucket. And then the bucket miraculously filled !!! He grabs the bucket and takes it straight to the elder to give him relief.

Repentance without tears, crushing and humiliation is usually not genuine ... God waited for the criminal for the tear of his repentance. It's the one that cleanses man ...
