We now have friends not from the heart, but online....

My Christ how will I overcome my problems" sermon by Elder Nektarios Moulatsiotis
My brothers.
Humanity and our society in general have reached a despair. Many people now use psychotropic drugs to overcome their problems and stand as far as they can in today's hellish life.
Some have completely lost hope and put a tragic end to their earthly life. Others struggle with the difficulty of not sinking and surviving. Some hope politicians and others in the arts and sciences will have a better future tomorrow. But the disappointment is not too late. The fast-moving time proves that the development of science, and especially of technology, is likely to worsen people's spiritual balance. They may have served and facilitated the body, but they did not appease the soul. This is why anxiety and the disease of melancholy poison more and more souls every day.
Joy and happiness were lost from their homes. Smiles go off on people's faces. The problems are increasing instead of decreasing. Man became a beggar of joy and happiness. Inside the apartments of the modern apartment building he was alienated by his fellow man. or personal friendship and love with our neighbor and relatives threw us like a sparrow away from our homes. We now have friends not from the heart, but online through facebook and the internet.
Love freezes and indifference to our fellow humans grows. The danger of a Third World War due to the accumulated problems has become a daily threat to our heads. Everywhere problems and turmoil. Peace, peace of mind, meaningful human communication have been lost, no matter how much technology makes it easy for us. The result is zero! But have you thought about why we got here?
My brothers, today's evangelical reading tells us so clearly. Peter was looking at Jesus Christ and had Him in his heart, walking on the sea, even though the waves were large and immense. As soon as he forgot about Jesus, as soon as he looked up at Him and looked at the waves, He immediately began to sink into the sea.
My brothers, the sea is our life and its waves, small or large, are the daily problems and difficulties that lie before us. Do not look at the sea, do not look at the waves if you do not want to sink yourself like Peter. Just look at the face of our Christ, hold His hand tightly and with Him rest assured that you will safely walk over the sea and over the waves. Allow your whole life, heart, and problems to Him alone. Let our Christ take care of all this. He is also our Father, He will help solve any problem, not you and me. We are weak and powerless. Don't you see that whatever efforts we make on our own do not work well? We thought we would do it ourselves, without Christ. Here's how despair came about, that's how we got to the drugs, the melancholy, the addictions, the suicides. This is how we were led to destruction and chaos.
We put ourselves or others like us as leaders, so the ship called family, society, state sank. The message of the Evangelist is salvation. Those of you who do not want to be plunged into life and sink like Peter, only look at Christ. Leave everything with confidence in His hands. Ask Him to solve all that is impossible for you to solve problems and obstacles. Believe Him that He will solve them and bring good will. He will not let you get lost and destroyed.
Let us all do this, let us truly lead our lives, not ourselves or others, but only Christ. Then joy and peace will return to our faces, our hearts, our families, our homeland and every nation. Amen.
