Why are we discouraged? Not from holiness, of course! That is why we are discouraged that we fool around a lot, we take a lot into our heads, we see only the sins of our neighbor, but we don’t notice our sins. We sift through other people's sins, and from empty talk, from condemnation, the grace of God departs from man ... Such a soul will never receive peace and rest.
