Calm down, pray, do not go away!

If my soul is with God, then I am calm. And all is well with me.

This is what St Paisios of Mt. Athos said. He said that when he lived in the monastery of Esfigmen, he and one other monk were somehow given obedience to prepare coffee for the worshipers after the liturgy. And this monk was all worried, constantly worried about leaving the temple in time to make coffee. "I do not have time!" - he said. And the elder Paisios sat quietly in his place and said to him: "Calm down, pray, do not go away! Let the soul subside, meet with God! And then you go make coffee. The Lord sees everything! "

These were not just words - the elder Paisios really lived like this. He believed that God exists and He sees everything and gives everything. All that He has, He gives, because His love is ecstatic. God does not need anything for Himself.

So, St. Paisios quietly prayed in the temple until the end of the service, and after the liturgy he calmly took the antidoron and went to make coffee. "And do you know what I noticed?", he asked." That monk who hurried to prepare everything, spilled coffee, burnt himself, nothing went right. He was nervous and constantly messed up... And I, who did not leave the church until the end of the service, until "..and of all the saints: have mercy on us and save us ...", calmly managed everything. The Lord arranged, and everything turned out! "
