How do we dispose of the materials we have used to light the lamp?

How do we dispose of the materials we have used to light the lamp? We gather it all up separately and either bury it in the garden in a place where people do not tread or burn it (if you are unable to do so yourself, ask if they can do so for you at your parish). We should never simply throw it in the garbage.
