Once Saint Justin Popovic, when even cars were few, went on a Serbian pilgrimage on a oxcart.

On his way he met an old woman, who also went on the same pilgrimage. The Saint, with great charity and sensitivity, offered to take he rwith him on the carriage.

But the woman gently refused, saying:

I am poor and have nothing else to offer to the saint. That's why I walk so I can at least offer him my trouble.

Saint Justin then struck his forehead and said:

Giustino, you became a professor of theology, but you still haven't reached the devotion of this simple woman.

And immediately came down from the carriage, continuing his road on foot.
