Orthodox Parables and Stories: Thy Will Be Done
In my memory there was a case. A woman went to pray in our temple. At that time she was well into her forties. Modest, quiet, researcher. She often prayed in front of the icon of Saints Peter and Fevronia with the words: “May the will of God be about me ...” Every time, communicating with the priest, she complained that modern men are very indecisive, and she is embarrassed to get acquainted, especially since she is such an age although she so desires a family, children. She shared with the confessor that she prays that the Lord would lead her in the right direction.owed And then one day she brought the groom with the words: “The Lord fulfilled my prayer.”
She is a modern lady, she moves around the city by car, and somehow she got into an accident on the way home right at the traffic light. A middle-aged man of good appearance stepped out of the car with which she was faced. He did not swear, as is usually the case when men see a woman behind the wheel, on the contrary, offered help, admitted that he was to blame, exceeded speed. Ready to help with car repair. They met, called the traffic police and left to wait in the cafe.
The police arrived and for a long time could not find the victims, because this couple, having left the cars, sat holding hands and spoke without stopping.
When hearing the insistent sound of a siren, they returned to their cars. Now my parishioner is already over 50 years old and with her husband they managed to give birth to three beautiful children. Both say they have three years to go. It seems to me, if it is destined that a person be married, if he is patient and adds: “Thy will be done,” the marriage will take place.
