Orthodox Parables and Stories

One of my parishioners, Anatoly, was seriously ill and the doctors couldn't help him. Gradually it came to an end. Understanding his position, Anatoly often asked me to associate him with the Holy Mysteries.
Sometime before the Divine Liturgy, his aunt came to me and asked me to pray in front of the image of the Mother of God "The Joy of all who Sorrow". After the end of the Divine Liturgy, we brought the icon to his home. But suddenly the patient died. To ease the grief of his relatives, I offered to fulfill his last request - to read a prayer request to the Mother of God, and was voluntarily agreed to by the deceased's relatives. We started the prayer, and as we read the Gospel, one of the singers noticed that the eyelids of the reposed were shaking.
After reading the Gospel, in general astonishment and joy, Anatoly returned to life. At the end of the prayer, when I was there to bless him with the cross, he called for divine communion. Shocked by the mercy of the Mother of God, I fulfilled his desire and associated him with the Holy Mysteries. After that, the patient lived for another two days and died peacefully during the night's watch.
