The Great Power of the Divine Liturgy

In all services except the Liturgy, we speak with the Lord as if by telephone, and in the Divine Liturgy we speak with the Lord face to face, we seem to directly speak our needs to Him, personally thank and pray to Him. Therefore, prayer for the Divine Liturgy is more effective than for any other service.
The Divine Liturgy is a window cut through by the Lord in a sinful, unbelieving, adulterous world, into which fresh air enters. Were it not for this window, believers would suffocate.
The Holy Fathers knew the great power of the Divine Liturgy and professed their reverence for it. Father Priest Seraphim, when they told him that it was difficult for him, a sick person, to go to the Liturgy, answered: “Yes, I will crawl on all fours if I don’t have the strength to walk at all."

Metropolitan Benjamin (Fedchenkov)
