What is the principle of monasticism?

- What is the principle of monasticism? What goals do people pursue when going to the monastery?

- In the monastery, the human soul goes through the path of relentless sanctification. People leave the world and become monks in order to escape from the causes and consequences of sins and achieve Christian perfection. Monasticism expresses the true meaning of the law of glorious spirituality. Monasteries are fortresses that protect and preserve Orthodoxy. As the Monk Justin (Popovich) said, if you want to understand whether a person loves Orthodoxy, find out if he loves monasticism. And so the real Orthodox feel the inner need for communication with the monks.
