Nativity Fast November 28 - January 6 (Gregorian Calendar)

Fasting is a time when we must understand what we live for, what passions we have and how to fight them. This is the task and purpose of fasting. The Nativity fast is the preparation for the Nativity of Christ, when the Savior Jesus Christ came to the world, therefore we must struggle with sinful inclinations during the entire fast.
During fasting, we especially notice our shortcomings, such as the passion of condemnation, anger, envy, pride. We must fight these passions, pray, confess and receive communion. The closer we come to God, the more temptations, the more strongly the enemy, the devil, attacks us. This is evident, and this must be dealt with. Now in the world a lot of evil, you need to fight at least with hatred and anger. Anger is destruction, this is the end. The more evil, the sooner the approach of the Second Coming, the world can not long exist in evil, it will perish.
