Miracle in Bucharest
The priests of the Catholic Christians do the same. But the water, which their priests sanctify, is no different from the common water. It deteriorates.
During the 18th century, an event occurred in Romania that disturbed the Christians there. The Catholics used to say to the Orthodox: "We have the truth, you are mistaken."
The same was true of the Orthodox Church.
Big quarrels broke out.
The two leaders of the Churches (the Orthodox Archbishop and Cardinal) met and said, "Something must be done to calm the spirits." They both decided to follow the Sanctification.
They did (each individually) the sequence. They sealed the two fountains.
The Orthodox said to the Catholic: "If our sanctuary is broken and your own is not damaged, then we are in error and you are in the Truth. But if yours is broken, then you are in error.
The Catholic accepted it.
They agreed to open the fountains after forty days.
Ten days later, the Virgin Mary appears to the Orthodox Archbishop and tells him: "Run! Take the Cardinal, go to the church to check on the Sanctificationss".
They went. And what did they see? The sanctification of the Catholics smelled unbearable. The Orthodox were spotless.
This great event is represented by a fresco at the Romanian Patriarchate in Bucharest.
