Orthodox Parables and Stories: Do you have any interesting stories about Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia?

- There were many. I will say only one case. Once I was just a monk, I was sent to the Patriarchate for work. This was in those years when the Patriarchate was founded. They brought cypresses, the ones that are now growing in the yard. Then they had to be planted. I walked around the yard, and bad thoughts swirled around my head. And suddenly a novice monk came up to me and said, "His Holiness says, that monk who walks around the courtyard has bad thoughts in his head, let's help him plant cypresses ... ".
"So he read your mind?"
"I don't know how that happened, but I remember it very well."
From an interview with Metropolitan Andrei Gori.
