On the day of the Meeting of the Lord, by the grace of God, most of us have received an unspeakable gift, have become acquainted with the Holy Life-giving, immortal Mysteries of Christ, and have our Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the depths of our hearts. Today, each of us is Simeon the God-Receiver. He received Christ in his hands, we received Christ in our souls.
That is why today each of us can exclaim with the blessed Simeon: "Lord lettest Thou Thy servant depart in peace..."
