Orthodox Parables and Stories: "Lord, thank You for Your greatness!"
A priest from Ioannina Father E had a very serious car accident many years ago. He had multiple fractures all over his body, arms, legs, side, head ... everywhere. In a coma, they transported him to Athens where he was put in intensive care.
He stayed in that situation for three months.
One day a despot visited the hospital for some acquaintance who told him that a priest, Father E., was also hospitalized in a very bad condition. He asked to see him.
When he entered the intensive care unit, he was surprised to see the priest who was in a coma doing Vespers and even commemorating, without any error, the saints of the following day. The despot made the sign of the cross.
"This happens every afternoon," people in the intensive care unit told him. "He does Vespers and then falls into a coma."
When, after months, the priest woke up, he said that an Angel of the Lord appeared holding a cylindrical object, like a scroll, on which words were written, and as he turned, he read what he was writing. "Lord, thank You for Your greatness!"
