With the coronavirus our faith is truly being tested. Being afraid of catching a disease by sharing the spoon at communion is clearly a lack of faith. What message are we sending to the non-Orthodox if we ourselves do not believe that the true Body and Blood of Christ is in the Chalice and that our Lord abides in us and we in Him! Holy Communion heals us, heals our souls! It is a Gift of God to us! Ask God to increase your faith, pray the Communion prayers and humbly take communion. Then staying away is exactly what the devil wants you to do!
