Orthodox Parables and Stories: "Lord have mercy from the parrot of St. Porphyrios"

Once, someone gave Elder Porphyrios an unruly and wild parrot.
The elder was very pleased with this unexpected gift. But the parrot was so wild that you couldn't even approach it. He rushed with his strong beak to bite you.
So the elder decided to tame him.
He took a minute and, touching the parrot gently on his wings, said the prayer:
"Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me."
It wasn't long ago, and the parrot was so tame that he accepted the old man's hand to caress him.
You often heard the parrot shout:
"Elder, bless", "Geronda, bless."
He would bravely come out of his cage when the elder opened the door, sat on his shoulder and ate with him.
He even learned to say:
"Virgin Theotokos, hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with You."
But the most miraculous thing was that he learned to chant "Lord, have mercy!"
