About the Spoons

Well said posted on the Greek site in my humble opinion:

John Moskonas

Prepare strengthen yourself, have faith, stand up for Orthodoxy as the Holy Fathers have done.
One of The implications of using individual spoons is this: If even the Body and Blood of Christ cannot sanctify a physical object such as a spoon, how can we believe in the grace of God sanctifying physical objects such as icons or miracles being worked through the laying of hands on a person or anything that involves the physical.
It’s a rejection that the physical has been made good by God and of God’s sanctifying work through the physical material of this world. This starting point is of the devil not God.
Then we stop venerating the physical. We only start worshiping the spiritual. And then… Anything that comes to us that seems somewhat spiritual is from God. We stop testing the spirit (1 John) and the demons laugh at us because we find ourselves worshiping them who appear to us as spiritual beings…
Do you see how one tiny change leads to other changes? Do you see why the Holy Father’s were so precise about changes? Do you see why small changes in one area lead to major changes down the road?
We are very precise about small changes. This is the proper mindset of the Orthodox. This is the mindset of the Holy Fathers of our Church from the beginning until now.
The Holy Fathers are a reflection of what the Church properly is
Forgive my comments please. May God forgive me I’m nothing. I’m just a lay person but when I read about this I cry….
