I was twenty years old. A shepherd, whether he is young or gray - it does not matter - must be a father. It is the duty of a shepherd to help people overcome all kinds of trials, difficulties they may encounter, to rise when they fall. A shepherd has to be a father first, he has to take care with fatherly love of the flock of spiritual children entrusted to him. And youth is not a hindrance to that. The main thing is that the clergy should be able to show Christ's love to those who turn to him, to strengthen them in faith and help them in difficulties. The pastor deals mostly with people who turn to him themselves. If a person turns to the church, it means that the moral beginning has already been awakened in him. The task of the shepherd is to awaken the best strings of the soul in a person and make them sound in full voice.
