Prayer offered in times of hostilities

Prayer Offered in Times of Hostilities

(This prayer is an amended version of the Service of Prayers in Times of Hostilities, as set Forth in the Orthodox Book of Needs {Trebnik}).

“O Lord God of Hosts, God of our Salvation, Who alone does wonders…, we humbly beseech You to hear our prayer offered on behalf of all of us living in our Country: Stretch forth Your Healing Hand to establish peace and good will again among us, especially for those who have suffered injustice in life, but also for the children, the aged, and the afflicted in these times of the pandemic.”

“Most Gracious Lord, look upon all of us who pray unto You with Compassion and Mercy, that we may be comforted by Your Grace and Your Loving Kindness to persevere even in the midst of civil unrest, and grant that we may also say with Truth, as did Moses who he spoke to the people of Israel and said, ‘Be bold, and stand fast, and you shall see the salvation that comes from the Lord, for He shall fight for you!’”

“Finally, O God our Savior, Our Strength, our Hope, and our Protection: Remember not the sins and unrighteousness of Your people, and turn not away from us because of Your anger; but, in mercy and goodness, look down upon us, your humble, yet unworthy servants before Your loving-kindness, and grant that all who strive to be YOUR witness in life may find that inner peace and tranquility that only You can provide.”

“For You Lord, are the Protection, the Victory and the Salvation of those who hope on You, and to You we give all glory: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages, Amen.”
