Orthodox Parables and Stories: Saint George: From Drama he flew to Panagia Soumela, lit the candles and returned!

Once, when he had gone to confess, he waited almost all morning until noon for the missing elder to return.

He was sitting under a tree, enduring the summer heat, looking forward to seeing the Elder

Suddenly, he sees him appear in front of him from nowhere, sitting and tired.
"Where were you Elder and did you get lost?

He told him.
"I was at Panagia Soumela, Yavrum, and lit candles."

It was the calm answer of the saint of Sipsa

These paradoxes for us, the people of matter, were absolutely natural for the Elder, as they moved daily in this celestial sphere where there are no physical limitations.

Mother Argyro, who had been serving him for the last few years, was now so familiar with his supernatural life that when she saw him come flying like the Prophet Elias, she naturally quarreled with him, because he was too late and the food was cold.

She was no longer surprised by what she saw that was natural in the face of the Elder, who lovingly and devotedly served him as his true mother.

From the book "Saint George of Drama, The Saint of the Poor and the Sick", published by the Holy Monastery of the Ascension of the Savior Taxiarches (Sipsa).
