Work is in full swing in the monastery fields of St. Seraphim-Diveevo monastery. Harvesting is in full swing.
Today we have completed the barley harvest. This year, this grain has been sown more than usual. In the Diveyevo monastery, the sisters are very fond of barley jelly, which is prepared according to the monastery recipe. Barley is rich in dietary fiber, promotes fast saturation of the body, helps maintain optimal intestinal microflora, and gives strength. Usually, barley is harvested in the very first days of August, but this year, due to the prevailing epidemiological situation, the crops were sown much later and the harvest was two weeks late.
Sisters-agronomists work tirelessly: you need to skillfully organize the harvesting process, feed the workers - tractor drivers and combine operators, monitor the serviceability of equipment. Now harvesting involves grain harvesters, mowers, presses that roll up the grass.
In the near future, oats will be harvested. The preparation of grass for the hermitage cattle for the winter continues.
