Orthodox Parables and Stories: The Virgin loves beauty!

ONCE a pious farmer near Vytina, wanted to cut wood for the coming winter. So he went to the Abbess of the Holy Monastery in Kernitsa and asked her if he was blessed to cut some wood from the area of the Monastery.

She gave him permission immediately seeing how poor he was.

At night, however, when the poor farmer had fallen asleep, he sees in full glory the Virgin Mary with unspeakable beauty ordering him:

"Cut as Gerontissa told you from my trees, but not from the ones in front of the Monastery because it will spoil its beauty and it is not appropriate."

TO LOVE YOU

Father Dionysios Tampakis
