Said an ascetic: The Bible is shrouded in mystery.
There is depth, there is inexhaustible meaning. It is impossible to understand everything. Just as you can remove a layer from an onion, then another, a third, etc. this is the same in the Bible: a person has understood a meaning, behind this meaning there is another, deeper, behind the second a third, so the Lord enlightens the minds of His ascetics.
