Stories of Holy Week



During Holy Week they walked quieter, talked quieter and ate almost nothing. Instead of tea, they drank sbiten (hot water with molasses) and ate it with black bread. In the evening we went to the monastery church, where the services were more statutory and stricter. From this church the mother brought the other day the words she had heard from the nun: - For prayer, fasting is the same as wings for a bird ...
