What are the hours?

- What are the Hours and when do we read them?
- Answer: "Hours" is a sequence consisting of psalms. We read them before the Liturgy begins. Then, according to the rules, the preparation of the Divine Liturgy, the proskomidi, must take place. Reading the "Hours" should remind us in prayer of the hours of our lives and how hour by hour we approach the kingdom of God. Because the Divine Liturgy is, in a way, the Blessed Kingdom of God.
