No empty words: "Your faith has saved you", "according to your faith, let it be for you". Confusion and despair are the enemy that destroys faith.
After all, faith is manifested not only in standing in prayer and going to church - true faith is demonstrated in trusting in God and in accepting from Him all that He is pleased to send us on the path of our lives.
Our criteria for goodness and happiness do not always coincide with God's good will for us, and therefore we pray and thank God for everything, without fear of walking into life in the promised land.
