The Blessing of the Priests

The sixth chapter of the Protoevangelium of James describes the placement of Mary in a room in which nothing unclean was allowed to touch her and that is why pure maidens are called to protect her. On the completion of one year of Mary, a feast is organized by Joachim and handed over to the priests to bless her.
