St. Joseph the Hesychast

If a thought of condemnation comes to you , don't sit there and speculate whether it is or isn't. The subject is closed. If something bad is said to you about your neighbor, then it is condemnation, then it is danger.

The elder said, "Carnal strife is kindled not so much by food, by drink, by wine, and by sleep, as by condemnation." The disciples asked, "Why, elder?" The elder answered, "So that we may know that we are of the same nature. To know that the same devil is at war with us, and that we are all worthy of equal condemnation."

"If one does not judge his neighbor, this is the testimony, and the characteristic, and the proof, and the assurance of a saved person. He who does not judge will not be judged."
"Have compassion on him who has not. Do not condemn him for what he does not have, that he is sinful, wicked, deceitful, talkative, a thief, a fornicator, and a liar. If you gain this knowledge, you can never judge anyone, even if you see him mortally sinning. For immediately you say, "He has not Your grace, my Christ, therefore he sins. If You go away from me also, I will do worse. He is poor. So how do you demand that he be rich? Give him riches so he can have them. He is blind. Give him eyes to see."
