On the Greek island of Kefalonia, on the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a miracle takes place that is probably known throughout the Orthodox world: for the feast of the Annunciation, women bring withered white lily flowers to church and decorate the miracle icon of Our Lady with them - and on Annunciation, six months later, on withered stems placed under glass, without water, sun and soil, fresh lily buds bloom!
After the Divine Liturgy, the lilies are removed from the icon, blessed and distributed to the congregation for their joy!
