One of the most solemn and brightest of the twelve great feasts is approaching - the Transfiguration of the Lord - August 19. On this day, the Church remembers how Christ was miraculously transfigured before His disciples on the mountain (according to tradition, it was Mount Tabor), and "His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light" (Matthew 17:2).
