Orthodox Parables and Stories: The Monk who wanted to learn to chant

In the Skete of St. Anne, the monk Prokopios from the Kalyva of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary had a great desire to learn music to glorify God just like the other brothers. But because he was a bit dissonant, the fathers avoided teaching him. Monk Prokopios had the gift of God saying over and over again: "Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me," and with his left hand he always held the prayer rope, which he did not leave.
Suddenly there appeared in front of him an older, unknown elder:
"Brother Prokopios, what are you so sad about? What is bothering you?"
"What is bothering me elder? Yes, I want to chant some music and no one wants to teach me because they tell me that I am a little bit out of tune."
"So why are you sitting there getting upset? I will teach you music and make you the best chanter in the Holy Mountain. However, I need you to do me a favor."
"What do you want me to do? Do you want me to pay you? I'll give you whatever you want!"
"My payment for you is to throw away what you hold in your left hand and to stop saying the prayer...And then I'll give you what you want!"
When Monk Prokopios heard this, he realized that he was not a monk but a demon who wanted him to stop praying.
He immediately made the sign of the cross and said:
"Get behind me Satan, I don't need your music, your deceit and kindness."
At that moment, the demon became younger and disappeared.
From this we learn how scared the devil is of the Jesus prayer, which is the Christians's weapon against the devil and therefore burns the demon.
