Skete of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called
Once there was the "Death Road" - the very one along which our soldiers went to the Nevsky Piglet bridgehead: from there, from the left bank of the Neva, they tried in vain for more than a year to break through the blockade of Leningrad. In memory of those who died, the first monastery of the reviving Alexander Nevsky Lavra was founded in 1998, the monastery of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called, consecrated in his honor because the apostle once passed along this road, returning to Rome from Scandinavia.
