Jordan of the Jordan

And what, after all, is a faithful God? Faith is like, I dare say, the trust of children in the hands of their parents. The universe may be on fire, death may be scourging the universe, but a baby will always sleep peacefully in your arms. So we, too, try to close our eyes to the world, and surrender to the safe embrace of our Father. Like little Jordan, on the day of the Epiphany, without weeping, without agitation, three times immersed in the kennels, three times dead to the world and at the same time meeting with God, he never opened his eyelids, perhaps because the Light he saw in his sleep did not look like any light of this world.
