Orthodox Parables and Stories: "Through the Prayer of St.Seraphim of Sarov"

Most of the healings and miracles that occur through the prayers of St. Seraphim of Sarov are not recorded anywhere, since people do not make any statements about it, considering themselves unworthy to announce their name. Today we publish a story about one such case.

The trouble came to our family in October 1993. We all had an accident together when we were driving a car along the Syktyvkar - Kirov highway. Our car crashed and flew off the road into a ditch 160 kilometers from Syktyvkar on the border of the Priluzsky district, far from populated areas. On the slope, it turned over twice. When I came to, I saw my mother ... She had a terrible scalped wound on her head: her hair slid down onto her face, exposing her skull. As it turned out later, her spine was fractured in three places, her insides were damaged: lungs, kidneys, other organs, and there was internal bleeding.

Seeing her (she did not move and only moaned softly), I immediately began to pray to God and call for help from St.Seraphim of Sarov. In all the difficult moments of my life, I refer to his name. And this time I constantly prayed to the saint, addressing him with these words: “Holy Father Seraphim, save and save my mother! Don't let her die! Give her the strength to survive and be saved! "

Immediately, an oncoming truck stopped on the road. The driver helped us to get my mother out of the overturned car, carefully transfer her to the cab of the truck and put her in the driver's resting place. He helped take her to the village of Vizinga and take her to the hospital. The whole truck was covered in blood, not only my mother's clothes were covered in blood, but mine and the driver's. Thanks to the kind person. Unfortunately, the hospital did not have the necessary specialists for such a difficult case, and after consulting, the doctors decided to take my mother to Syktyvkar.

All the way my mother was conscious, she said that she could no longer endure, that she was about to die, and with tears I begged her not to die and prayed to Saint Seraphim ...

We drove to Syktyvkar for over two hours. Mom lost a lot of blood, but her life was somehow preserved by some miracle. Fortunate for us, she ended up with Veselkin, a leading trauma surgeon in the republic, who skillfully provided her with first aid. When he finished examining my mother, I asked: "How dangerous is her condition," he answered frankly: "There is no hope of salvation."

My father is a disabled person, a sick person, who would hardly have survived her loss. Together, it was easier for us to endure what happened. On the first night, we prayed for the first time in front of the icons without embarrassment of each other. Never before have I seen my father pray, and he never saw me praying. We prayed on our knees for three nights, crying, asking for the salvation of our mother. Every time we called the intensive care unit, we were afraid to hear terrible words in response ... Mom's life hung on a string. After the shock, she began to think that we were all dead, even my sister and nephews, who were not with us in the car. Nothing kept her on earth.

Suddenly, to the delight and surprise of everyone, my mother went on the mend. Three days later she was transferred to traumatology. I will never forget how, two months later, I taught my mother to walk again. And three months later, on New Year's Day 1994, she was already discharged from the hospital. Soon she was able to do without crutches, and today she feels completely healthy. Only when she frowns her forehead, the wrinkles on her forehead are folded like a ladder, the skin on her head was sewn a little inaccurately. For her, for us and for the doctors, such a quick recovery is a real miracle. After all, while she was in the hospital, we witnessed many deaths of people both younger and with much less severe injuries .

It is obvious to me that such a recovery happened through the prayer of St. Seraphim of Sarov, who is close to God. In the church I ordered a thanksgiving service to Father Seraphim, we pray to him.
