Parable

 

A man said to his wife every week:

- Go, woman, to church and pray for both of us.

And he boasted to his friends:

“I don’t have to go to church every Sunday, because my wife does it for both of us.”

Once he had a dream: he stands with his wife in front of the gates of heaven and waits to be opened and let inside. Finally, the gate slowly opened, and the man heard a voice addressed to the woman:

- You can enter for both of you!

The woman entered, the gate immediately closed. The man felt so bad that he woke up. The wife froze in amazement when the next Sunday, going to church for Divine Liturgy, she saw that her husband was already waiting for her:

- Today I will go to church with you.
